Urgent: YMRA faces shut down. 

The YMRA board's term ends in December 2023, and despite months of outreach, we have no volunteers for critical positions. The operation of YMRA has been carried on the shoulders of a few for the past two years and this is no longer sustainable. The lack of support from Yucaipa’s mobile home residents brings 33 years of assistance to an end. Without YMRA you will be on your own.

Will we lose Rent Control if YMRA dissolves after 33 years? That is our greatest fear.  YMRA is vital for information and collective strength against threats to our rent control. Without its representation, we risk losing rent control, especially with lobbyists from WMA (Western Manufactured Housing Communities Association) from MHET (Mobile Home Educational Trust)  pushing for its abolition, as they have been doing for years all throughout Southern California. Is there a chance we will lose our protection of rent control? It’s possible even though the city says “NO, not going to happen, I have no faith that they will not cave under pressure from WMA & MHET.

Can you afford thousands in legal fees to fight these groups? We’re genuinely concerned for all mobile home residents in Yucaipa if YMRA ceases to exist. You need to take action to keep this organization alive. Please volunteer for a board position and/or volunteer for any of the other much needed help.

The final decision will be made at the monthly meeting on November 9, 2024.
