The City of Yucaipa requests each park nominate and elect, a resident representative to receive all Mobile Home notices from the city. The representative would in turn inform the park residents of these notifications. Notifications could include possible park sale, owner applications for rent increases, changes to the city ordinances and such.
Pursuant to YMC 15.20.060 "Resident Representatives", the residents of each mobile home park in the City shall annually elect by majority vote, one vote per space, a resident representative to receive all notices require by this chapter. The residents shall advise the Rent Administrator of the name, address and phone number of the elected resident representative in writing no later than January 31st of each year and shall promptly notify the Rent Administrator of any change of representative.
Currently out of the 42 mobile home parks in Yucaipa, there are only 4 park representatives. It is vitally important to keep informed of any changes that might occur, and a park representative is the direct link to the rent administrator. Too often residents find out about changes after the wheels are motion.
If you are interested in becoming a Resident Representative, information can be obtained at the Yucaipa City Hall. Kim Metzler Deputy City Clerk/Deputy Rent Administrator/Records Technician General Services will provide you with a list of the rent controlled spaced in your park along with the ballots and information on how to proceed.
