-Golden Wheels provides daily transportation for seniors, ages 55+, and disabled adults. The transportation provided to seniors includes trips to the grocery store, pharmacy visits, doctor visits and additional personal transportation needs within Yucaipa City limits. OmniTrans provides generous grant funding for this service.
The Golden Wheels program membership fee includes unlimited rides for those traveling within the city of Yucaipa boundaries for the calendar year (January - December) Scholarships are available to assist with the membership fee.
The Golden Wheels staff accepts calls from the Scherer Community Center, during the facilities operating hours at 909-797-1171 ext. 480. You must contact the Golden Wheels program staff at least 48 hours in advance to arrange for transportation. Requests are accepted on a first-come, first served-basis. You must provide the riders name, addresses ofad destination and also provide a waiver before the riders first trip. Curb to curb service is available, you must meet the vehicle at the curb within 5 minutes of the van's arrival.

Personal Care Attendants are allowed as well as service animals. Medical equipment is allowed such as wheelchairs, canes, walkers, oxygen tanks, respirators and other common mobility devices. Keep in mind that the drivers are prohibited from lifting or carrying riders.
You can bring up to 4 grocery bags, and smoking, eating or drinking is NOT allowed.
You cannot change destinations or add a destination during the trip, and the drivers are also prohibited from assisting riders from the curb to the residence and under NO circumstance is a driver allowed to enter a rider's residence.
